Israel has initiated a large wave of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip. Simultaneously, the Israeli Prime Minister's office announced that the ceasefire in Gaza has ended, and that the IDF will resume the war against Hamas. Israel and Hamas were supposed to negotiate in Qatar regarding the start of Phase 2 of the ceasefire agreement.

The IDF is currently striking Hamas terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip, aiming to achieve the war objectives set by the political leadership, including the release of all of our hostages, both the living and the dead.

The move comes after more than 900 recorded violations of the ceasefire by Israel in recent months. Egypt and Qatar, the ceasefire mediators, have condemned Israel's return to war, stating a gross breach of its promises.

The ceasefire in Gaza was meant to consist of 3 phases. Phase 1 was implemented by Hamas and Israel in the last two months, including prisoner exchanges and the limited entry of humanitarian aid. Negotiations regarding phase 2 were supposed to take place, but after increasing Israeli violations, it became clear Netanyahu had no appetite for a continuation of the ceasefire.
