Russian Missile Strike on Dnipro Kills 4 and Injures 40

Ballistic attack hits industrial zone amid Zelenskiy's European and U.S. talks

Naffah

A Russian ballistic missile struck an industrial area of Dnipro, Ukraine's fourth-largest city, on Monday morning, killing four civilians and wounding 40 others, according to regional authorities.

The explosion occurred at 10:14 a.m., minutes after an air-raid alert warned of a launch from Russia's Taganrog region.

Eleven of the injured remain in serious condition, and search-and-rescue operations have concluded.

The missile hit a cluster of car service stations, businesses, and an office building, damaging 49 vehicles and blowing out windows across the site.

Emergency services shared images showing firefighters amid twisted metal and rescuers carrying wounded on stretchers.

Local officials described severe destruction at the impacted workplaces, where employees had already begun their morning shifts.

Broader Context

Dnipro, a pre-war city of nearly one million residents located roughly 100-130 kilometers from active front lines, has faced repeated Russian missile and drone attacks throughout the conflict.

Monday's strike coincided with heightened diplomatic activity, including President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's visit to Paris and recent talks between Ukrainian and U.S. officials aimed at ending the nearly four-year war.

Russia has not commented on the attack.
