Emmy Award-winning voice actor Eric Bauza, best known for portraying iconic Looney Tunes characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, has died aged 46.
His family announced his sudden death in a statement posted on Instagram.
According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner, Bauza died at home on Sunday from hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
His death marks the loss of a prominent figure in contemporary animation whose career included hundreds of performances across television and film.
Born in Scarborough, Toronto, in 1979, Bauza was of Filipino descent and developed an early fascination with Looney Tunes, frequently imitating cartoon voices during childhood.
He later became one of the franchise's leading performers, working with Warner Bros. Animation for 15 years and accumulating more than 400 acting credits.
Bauza portrayed Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn in the 2021 film Space Jam: A New Legacy.
He subsequently reprised those characters and voiced Road Runner in Coyote vs. Acme, which premiered in Los Angeles in August.
His film credits also included The Super Mario Bros. Movie and its sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, in which he portrayed Toad General.
Between 2022 and 2025, he received three Emmy Awards for performances in Teen Titans Go!, Bugs Bunny Builders and Looney Tunes Cartoons.
Bauza remained active in animation during his final year, contributing to Rick and Morty, Superkitties, Minions & Monsters and Avatar: Seven Havens.
He also appeared in Forgotten Island and was involved in pre-production work on Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical and The Dragon Masters.
Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, praised Bauza's contributions to animation and his dedication to preserving the Looney Tunes legacy.
Christopher DeFaria, who worked with Bauza on Coyote vs. Acme, also highlighted his influence on the film and the wider voice-acting profession.
His death concludes a career spanning established cartoon franchises and contemporary animated productions.
