UK Police Probe Prince Andrew Over Smear Campaign Allegations

Newly surfaced claims reveal Prince Andrew’s alleged efforts to discredit his accuser

Naffah

A 2011 email has surfaced, exposing Prince Andrew’s alleged attempts to undermine Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse when she was a teenager.

The email, obtained by The Mail on Sunday, shows Andrew instructing his Metropolitan Police bodyguard to investigate Giuffre, providing her date of birth and social security number.

The directive was sent to Ed Perkins, Queen Elizabeth’s deputy press secretary, hours before a now-infamous photo of Andrew with Giuffre was published.

Andrew’s email claimed Giuffre had a criminal record in the United States, a claim her family has denied.

The request was made to a member of the Met’s elite SO14 Royalty Protection Group, though there is no evidence the officer acted on it.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are “actively looking into” these allegations.

Giuffre’s family stated that the email reveals efforts to “discredit and defame survivors,” urging a full investigation into how Andrew obtained her private information.

Royal Titles and Ongoing Scrutiny

The revelations follow Andrew’s decision last week to relinquish his Duke of York title and membership in the Order of the Garter, amid ongoing scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew, who settled a lawsuit with Giuffre in 2022, has consistently denied her allegations.

He stepped down from royal duties in 2019 and lost military titles and patronages in 2022.

Giuffre’s family has renewed calls for King Charles to strip Andrew of his Prince title.

British Energy Secretary Ed Miliband described the allegations as “deeply concerning.”

The controversy continues to overshadow the royal family, despite Andrew’s attempts to distance himself from public roles.

Buckingham Palace has not yet commented on the latest claims.
