War doesn’t kill civilians.
It redefines them.
Who is left to speak for the labeled, the misnamed, the buried?
A civilian doesn’t stop being human
because a missile says otherwise.
Ask the mother in Gaza.
Ask the girl in Donetsk.
Ask the uncle in Kabul.
They’ll tell you:
A civilian is the first to die.
