Iran has officially rejected a recent U.S. proposal and is preparing a counteroffer to be delivered to Washington through diplomatic channels in Oman, Iranian officials announced. Iranian officials called the U.S. proposal 'delusional' and 'a product of retardation'.

According to Tehran, the primary point of contention was the U.S. demand that Iran cease all uranium enrichment, including for civilian purposes, after a temporary period in which enrichment would be allowed. Iranian leaders viewed this condition as unacceptable. In a recent speech, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei publicly dismissed the demand, calling it unreasonable and reiterating Iran’s right to pursue peaceful nuclear activities under international law.

The Iranian rejection came right after the Iranian foreign ministry accused the US and Europe of supporting the Israeli nuclear programme accusing both of being biased and hypocritical in their demands when it comes to the Iranian nuclear program.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baqaei claimed that newly obtained Israeli documents during an Iranian secret operation prove that European nations are actively involved in sustaining and advancing Israel’s nuclear capabilities. He argued that this alleged support undermines the credibility of Western demands for Iran to curb its nuclear activities, further complicating ongoing negotiations.
