Systematic Destruction and Forced Displacement
Hamas has denounced Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz’s announcement of intensified attacks on Gaza City as a "criminal plan" aimed at destroying urban infrastructure and forcibly displacing the remaining Palestinian population . The group emphasized that Israel’s targeting of high-rise residential towers in densely populated areas, including buildings housing displaced families constitutes "crimes against humanity" under international law. These operations, part of "Operation Gideon’s Chariots 2," seek to complete Israel’s occupation of Gaza City despite Hamas’s acceptance of ceasefire proposals mediated by Egypt and Qatar.

Humanitarian Crisis and Famine Conditions
The UN reports that Israel now controls 40% of Gaza City, where one million residents face "unthinkable" conditions, including famine, overcrowded shelters, and rampant disease. Over 82,000 people have been newly displaced since mid-August, with many forced into coastal areas lacking adequate water, food, or medical care. The Hamas-run Health Ministry confirms 376 deaths from malnutrition, including three children in the past 24 hours, while Israeli strikes killed 30 Palestinians on Thursday alone. Hospitals like Al-Shifa struggle to treat trauma patients amid supply shortages and ongoing bombardment.

International Inaction and Israeli Accountability
Hamas has called on the UN Security Council, International Criminal Court (ICC), and global community to intervene, accusing Israel of genocide and demanding punitive measures beyond "mere condemnations". The ICC issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in November 2024 for war crimes, while the International Court of Justice (ICJ) continues hearing a genocide case against Israel. Despite these proceedings, Western nations, particularly the U.S. have shielded Israel from consequences, with President Donald Trump endorsing military actions and dismissing ceasefire efforts.

Ceasefire Negotiations and Hostage Crisis
Hamas asserts it has "shown significant flexibility" in accepting a 60-day truce proposal for exchanging hostages and prisoners, but Netanyahu’s government insists on total surrender and disarmament. The group released a video of Israeli hostages Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Alon Ohel on August 28, warning they risk death in Gaza City’s offensive. Families of the 48 remaining hostages, 20 believed alive have intensified protests, demanding Netanyahu prioritize negotiations over military escalation.

Global Solidarity and Resistance
Hamas has urged worldwide protests against Israel’s "starvation policy and genocide," designating August 3 as a Global Day of Support for Gaza and Palestinian prisoners. The movement praised initiatives like the Global Sumud Flotilla challenging the blockade and called for sustained pressure on Israeli and U.S. embassies. As the war enters its 700th day, with over 64,300 Palestinians killed, Hamas vows continued resistance against what it terms "fascist occupation".
