Israel Destroys Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza
On February 16 of this year, Israel carried out the destruction of yet another hospital in the Gaza Strip—the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital. This medical facility, which was constructed by Turkey and operated by local Palestinian authorities, served as the only cancer treatment center in Gaza, providing critical care to patients in the strip.
According to Anadolu Agency, the United Nations issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli attack this Friday, denouncing it as a blatant violation of both international humanitarian law and established legal frameworks designed to protect medical infrastructure during conflicts.
UN spokesperson Farhan Haq told a news conference: "We certainly are against any of the attacks on medical infrastructure."
Farhan Haq
All attacks against medical infrastructure by any of the parties is a violation of international humanitarian law, and we stand opposed to this.
Farhan Haq
Attacks on hospitals is an intolerable situation for the suffering population

Since the onset of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has systematically targeted hospitals in a deliberate campaign. This strategy has included besieging medical facilities, ordering multiple forced evacuations, destroying vital medical equipment, and blocking the delivery of essential medical supplies. These actions have contributed to a catastrophic healthcare crisis in the strip, leaving countless patients without access to life-saving treatment.
