Israeli forces killed at least 92 Palestinians in Gaza on Monday, including 41 aid seekers, despite so-called pauses in fighting intended to allow humanitarian aid delivery.
The relentless bombardment underscores Israel's disregard for civilian lives, with nearly half of the day's casualties occurring at armed aid distribution sites run by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
The total death toll from Israel's ongoing genocide has reached at least 59,921, with 145,233 wounded, reflecting a catastrophic loss of life and a deepening humanitarian disaster.
A doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières, Tanya Haj Hassan, warned of the severe, lasting impacts of malnutrition in Gaza, stating:
The reality is the problem doesn’t end when the food arrives … malnutrition impacts all aspects of the body’s function.
Israel's blockade and attacks on aid seekers have exacerbated a hunger crisis, with children particularly vulnerable to heart failure, sepsis, and other fatal conditions even after food aid reaches them.
The international community has raised alarms, with the Netherlands banning two Israeli ministers, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, for inciting violence and advocating ethnic cleansing, actions deemed "intolerable and morally bankrupt" by Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp.
Israel's actions have drawn widespread criticism, with reports of violence against activists, including US labor activist Chris Smalls, who was choked and kicked by Israeli forces while in custody after the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) vessel Handala was illegally intercepted en route to Gaza.
The FFC said in a post on social media.
Seven uniformed individuals … choked him and kicked him in the legs, leaving visible signs of violence on his neck and back. When his lawyer met with him, Christian was surrounded by six members of Israel’s special police unit. This level of force was not used against other abducted activists.
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition condemned the "discriminatory treatment" of Smalls, highlighting Israel's aggressive tactics against those attempting to deliver aid.
As Gaza faces relentless attacks and a starvation crisis, the international community is urged to hold Israel accountable for violations of humanitarian principles and international law.
