Israel has seized over 70,000 square meters of land in the Nablus governorate, northern occupied West Bank, as part of a broader military strategy, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.

The seizure, executed under a military order, aims to create a buffer zone around the illegal Eli settlement.

The commission reported that 53 such orders have been issued since January 2025, expanding Israel’s control over the region.

The objection period for the seizure lasted only one week, limiting local challenges.

Military Raids and Casualties

Israeli forces conducted widespread raids across the West Bank, resulting in injuries and a death.

In ar-Ram, a 22-year-old Palestinian was shot in the foot, while a 37-year-old man in Ramallah was hospitalized after being hit in the thigh by a live bullet.

In Nablus, 42-year-old Majed Mohammad Dawoud was killed during a raid on al-Ain refugee camp.

Witnesses reported that Israeli soldiers prevented medical teams from aiding Dawoud, leaving him to bleed out before dragging his body through the streets.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society noted that at least 20 Palestinians, including three children, were arrested during these operations.

Settler Attacks Escalate

Israeli settlers, backed by soldiers, have intensified attacks on Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season.

In Khirbet Ibziq, settlers stormed a school under military protection.

In Turmus Ayya, masked settlers assaulted farmers and international volunteers, set fire to vehicles, and stole olive crops.

Since October 2023, settlers have conducted 7,154 attacks, damaging or uprooting 48,728 trees, including 37,237 olive trees, the commission reported.

The United Nations states that over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 2023, with 43 percent of deaths occurring in the past two years.

The International Court of Justice has declared Israel’s settlements illegal, warning that such actions threaten a two-state solution.
