Brooklyn Slaughter: Cops Shoot Man After 4 Kids Stabbed With Cleaver

A quiet Sunday morning in Brooklyn turned into a scene of unimaginable terror when a man armed with a meat cleaver allegedly stabbed four young girls in a Bensonhurst apartment, police say.

The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Chinese man Longqian Chen, was shot by NYPD officers after refusing to drop his blood-drenched weapon. He remains in critical condition.

The nightmare unfolded just after 10 a.m. on April 06, 2025, when an 11-year-old girl, bleeding and terrified, dialed 911 to report that her uncle was attacking her and her siblings. Despite not knowing her exact address, advanced location technology guided officers to the 84th Street home. Inside, they found girls aged 8, 11, 13, and 16 with severe stab wounds, all are expected to survive.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch told CBS News, “At that point, [the officers] heard screams coming from behind the door to their left and immediately began forcing their way into the apartment.”

Inside, “they encountered a man standing near the entrance holding a large meat cleaver covered in blood”. He ignored orders to drop it and lunged, so “two officers discharged their firearms, firing seven total rounds between them and striking the subject, ending the threat”.

Bodycam caught it all.

“The 11-year-old 911 caller, who herself was a victim, hid in a room to call the police,” Tisch told Fox News, while a young boy ran for help.

The motive remains unclear. Neighbor Jorge Jarama told CBS News, “Like the hands, like that, the whole body. The t-shirt and the pants, a lot of blood.”

Cops credit the kids and fast response for dodging a deadlier fate in this Brooklyn nightmare.
