The chairperson of Sentebale, an African charity co-founded by Prince Harry, accused the royal on Sunday of leading a campaign of bullying and harassment to push her out after she challenged his sudden resignation from the organization, Sophie Chandauka, the chair of Sentebale, criticized Harry in an interview with Sky News, detailing how his Netflix deal disrupted a planned fundraiser and how tensions arose following an incident involving his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry stepped down as a charity patron on Tuesday, nearly two decades after co-founding it in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana. In his resignation, he cited a breakdown in the relationship between Chandauka and other board members.

Harry and the co-founder of the charity left the organisation after releasing a joint statement citing the reason of them leaving the charity is the ongoing dispute with Chandauka.

It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation.

Sophie Chandauka revealed that she had reported Sentebale’s trustees to the U.K.’s Charity Commission and taken legal action in a British court to block her removal from the organization. In a statement on Tuesday, she accused the charity of serious misconduct, though she did not specify individuals or provide details. She claimed she had attempted to expose what she described as "abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, and misogynoir"—a term that highlights the alleged intersection of racism and misogyny faced by Black women. Speaking to Sky News, Chandauka said Prince Harry’s unexpected resignation had blindsided her, calling it a large-scale act of harassment and bullying. She further alleged that he had interfered with her whistleblower complaint, complicating her efforts to address the issues within the organization.
