Nine women have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, accusing the 53-year-old star of inappropriate and predatory behavior, according to a report by Air Mail published Saturday.
The accusations, which span from the early 2000s to the mid-2010s, include claims that Leto engaged in sexually explicit conversations with underage girls, exposed himself without consent, and pursued relationships with teenagers while in his 30s.
One woman, who was 16 in 2006, told Air Mail that Leto approached her outside a Los Angeles café while seated with then-19-year-old Ashley Olsen. She said he grabbed her arm, obtained her phone number, and later called her late at night with invitations to parties at his home.
“The conversations turned sexual,” she said. “He’d ask things like, ‘Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever sucked a d**k?’”
Model Laura La Rue alleged that in 2008, when she was 16 and Leto was 36, he asked for her number at a Beverly Hills event despite knowing her age. She later visited his home, where she said he flirted aggressively. On another occasion, she claimed, Leto walked out of a room completely naked while she was present.
“He just walked out, d**k out, like it was normal,” La Rue said. “I thought maybe this was just what adult men do.”
Another woman alleged that Leto began texting her while she was underage and later exposed himself and forced her hand onto him when she was 18.
A representative for Leto denied all claims in the report, calling them “demonstrably false.” Regarding La Rue’s allegations, the representative stated that their communications were never inappropriate and noted that she later applied to work as his assistant—a claim La Rue disputes.
The report also revisits past accusations, including a 2012 Facebook post by DJ Allie Teilz, who wrote: “You’re not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17.”
Leto’s spokesperson denied Teilz’s allegations as well.
Rumors about Leto’s behavior have circulated for years. In 2005, The New York Post reported on his associations with young models, and in 2018, actor Dylan Sprouse accused him of sliding into the DMs of female models aged 18–25.
Director James Gunn responded at the time, sarcastically asking, “He starts at 18 on the internet?”
Leto, known for roles in Fight Club, Dallas Buyers Club, and Suicide Squad, has not personally addressed the latest allegations. His representatives maintain that all claims are “expressly denied.”
