At least 10 people have died in Missouri overnight as tornadoes ravaged the Midwest and Southeast parts of the US. The storms caused devastation across multiple states, with 26 unconfirmed tornadoes reported in Arkansas, Illinois, Mississippi, and Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has said that three people have died in the Bakersfield area of Ozark County and Butler County, while seven others died in other locations across the state. Officials are still in the process of evaluating the damage as the severe weather rages on.
David Roth, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, has said that there was at least a 30% chance of more tornadoes on Saturday in Alabama and Mississippi. Forecasters believe the storms might become more intense overnight, moving east towards Florida and Atlanta by midnight.
Residents in the areas hit hard by the storms are still in danger, as emergency responders work diligently to clear debris and help those in need. Officials are urging everyone to stay informed through weather alerts and to seek shelter if any warnings are announced.
