House Democrats released several dozen additional photographs from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein on Thursday as the Justice Department approaches a congressionally mandated deadline to disclose files related to the late financier and convicted sex offender.

The images, obtained by the House Oversight Committee through a subpoena, are part of a collection of more than 95,000 photos that were in Epstein’s possession before his death in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting sex trafficking charges.

Their release comes amid heightened public attention and political pressure surrounding the long-sealed materials tied to Epstein and his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

Photos and Associations

The newly released photographs depict Epstein alongside a range of prominent figures, including politicians, business leaders, intellectuals, and cultural figures.

Among those shown are Bill Gates, Noam Chomsky, Woody Allen, Steve Bannon, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, an Emirati businessman, as well as images from a 2011 dinner hosted by a nonprofit group.

Previous releases included photos of Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Ehud Barak, with the committee emphasizing that it is making no accusations of wrongdoing against individuals appearing in the images.

Additional materials include images of passports, visas, and identification documents from several countries, with identifying details redacted, as well as photos of women or girls whose faces were obscured to protect potential victims.

Some images were released without context, including screenshots of messages appearing to discuss recruiting young women and photos involving unidentified individuals.

Pressure on the Justice Department

The photo releases coincide with a Friday deadline for the Justice Department to publish files connected to Epstein and Maxwell under a law passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee said they would “continue releasing photographs and documents to provide transparency for the American people.”

Rep. Robert Garcia, the committee’s top Democrat, said the “new images raise more questions about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its possession.”

Trump has acknowledged a past relationship with Epstein but has denied involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities, and the Justice Department has not indicated whether it will meet the deadline.

Speculation surrounding Epstein’s network and the circumstances of his death, ruled a suicide, has continued to fuel public interest as the deadline approaches.
