According to a memo released on Friday, US President Donald Trump has revoked security clearances for a number of high-profile individuals, such as former President Joe Biden, his family, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The order also covered Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Adviser Jacob Sullivan, and some outspoken critics of Trump, including former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney.

Trump instructed federal agencies to revoke access to classified information to these people and prevent them from entering secure government facilities without an escort. Usually, former presidents and high ranking officials keep their security clearances as a courtesy, which often helps them in their post-office endeavors but this does not seem to be the case under Trump this time.

Also those listed are Fiona Hill, who was an adviser in the Trump White House after the 2016 election, and Alexander Vindman, a retired Army officer who was critical of Trump’s dealings with Ukraine back in 2019.

Trump has often claimed that the 2020 election was stolen from him by Biden and the Democrats, and he hasn’t held back in his criticism of Biden and his team. It is also notable that Trump himself faced scrutiny for storing classified documents at his Mar a Lago estate after leaving office. That investigation ended when he returned to the White House.
