U.S. Lawmakers Renew Calls for Andrew to Testify on Epstein Links

Royal Stripped of Title Amid Intensifying Pressure Over Sex Offender Ties

Naffah

Members of a U.S. congressional committee investigating Jeffrey Epstein's case have stepped up demands for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to address his connections to the late financier and convicted sex offender.

King Charles removed Andrew's prince title and evicted him from his Windsor Castle mansion on Thursday, citing years of damaging headlines despite Andrew's denials of wrongdoing.

The palace emphasized sympathy for abuse victims in its statement, prompting heightened U.S. scrutiny.

At least four Democrat members of the House Oversight Committee have urged Andrew to testify voluntarily about his Epstein ties.

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi stated:

Come clean, come before the U.S. Congress, voluntarily testify, don't wait for a subpoena come and testify and tell us what you know.

Congressman Suhas Subramanyam suggested Andrew could appear remotely with a lawyer in a private session.

The Republican-controlled committee has not indicated support for subpoenas, which would be hard to enforce outside the U.S.

Accusers like Liz Stein and Anouska De Georgiou called for Andrew's cooperation to aid investigators and victims.

UK Trade Minister Chris Bryant said Andrew should answer questions in the U.S. if invited, like any ordinary citizen.

UK Investigations and Royal Response

England and Wales' police watchdog contacted the Metropolitan Police to assess if media reports on Andrew warrant referral.

The Metropolitan Police noted a 2016 decision not to pursue a full investigation, deeming other entities better suited.

Buckingham Palace described the censures as necessary amid serious lapses in judgment.

Andrew must relocate to a Norfolk estate property, potentially by early next year.

New court documents revealed a 2010 email from Andrew seeking an in-person meeting with Epstein post-prison, followed by a Central Park encounter.

Re-emerged 2011 emails and a memoir by accuser Virginia Giuffre reiterated denied allegations against Andrew.

A vehicle linked to Andrew was seen leaving Windsor grounds on Saturday.
