India Officially Blames Pakistan for Deadly Terror Attack in Pahalgam
A preliminary investigation by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, has revealed alleged operational ties between Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Pakistan denies the claim, stating that India is using the Pahalgam attack as a false pretext to drag the two countries into a 'catastrophic war'.
According to NIA officials, the LeT is believed to have orchestrated the deadly assault under the direct supervision of senior ISI operatives.
The agency's initial findings suggest that the plot was conceived and planned at LeT’s headquarters in Pakistan, Investigators claim that two of the suspected attackers out of a group of six to seven individuals are confirmed Pakistani nationals. These individuals reportedly maintained continuous communication with their ISI handlers, who provided detailed instructions related to the timing, logistics, and execution of the attack.
Sources within the NIA indicate that the gunmen crossed into Indian territory several weeks before carrying out the assault. The militants are believed to have received both strategic guidance and logistical support from ISI-linked contacts throughout the planning stages.
While the investigation remains ongoing, these findings are expected to intensify diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan, with New Delhi reiterating its long-standing accusations of state-sponsored terrorism emanating from across the border.
