According to a recent global survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, public opinion of Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is growing increasingly negative across much of the world.

The study, which included responses from adults in 24 countries, found a notable decline in international perceptions of Israel’s global role and leadership.

Among those holding unfavorable views of Israel, a significant portion—about one-quarter—came from countries such as Australia, Greece, Indonesia, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey, suggesting that skepticism toward Israeli policy and leadership is especially strong across parts of Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Muslim world.

However, the survey also revealed that opinions on Israel remain mixed in several countries. In India, for example, 34% of respondents expressed a favorable view of Israel, while 29% held an unfavorable view, indicating a relatively divided stance. In contrast, sentiment toward Israel was more positive in parts of sub-Saharan Africa, with approximately half of adults in Kenya and Nigeria reporting favorable opinions of the country. The data highlights deepening geopolitical divides in how Israel is perceived globally, shaped by regional politics, historical ties, and current events.

Israelis themselves view that Israel is not respected Internationally according to the survey, this view increased 9 points since last Year.

Israelis on this question. Israelis on the ideological right (49%) are more likely than those on the left (24%) to say their country is respected abroad. Israeli Arabs and Israeli Jews are equally likely to say that the country is respected internationally, also consistent with last year.
