Ukraine Rejects Easter Truce, Attacks Across Frontline
According to Russian sources on the ground, Ukrainian forces have launched attacks on Russian positions in the Sumy region, along with drone and artillery strikes in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Shelling has also been reported in the city of Shebekino in Russia’s Belgorod region, as well as in the Kursk and Luhansk regions, and along the contact line near the city of Pokrovsk.
Earlier, in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's unilateral declaration of an Easter truce, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha dismissed the move as insincere. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sybiha wrote, "Russia can agree at any time to the proposal for a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire, which has been on the table since March."
There have been no air raid sirens reported in Ukraine since Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an Easter truce on Saturday evening. Both Putin and the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the ceasefire was conditional upon Ukraine’s adherence to the terms, suggesting that hostilities could resume over the weekend if those conditions are not met.
